Opinión de un comprador: Attention! - This opiniones is more a reflection of my experiences and interactions with Asus customer support than it is a reviews of the (defective) notebook.
I ordered this notebook after having a bad experience with another gaming laptop in the month leading up to its purchase.
I had been using a particular brand of gaming notebook for the past five years. That thing was rock solid. It still works just fine, though it's now more than a little dated. I figured it was time to upgrade. So, thinking the established track record of that brand warranted giving them my business once more, I hit the "buy now" button. Mistake. The new unit was amazing on paper, but the GPU wouldn't clock up past 200MHz which rendered the mobile RTX 3080 all but useless. Games were unplayable on low. No controlador updates or GPU bios updates addressed my problem, so I decided to RMA the defective product. Five weeks after mailing it out, there was no ETA in sight. That was a $mil ochocientos unit. They had my money, and now the notebook too, and I had nothing to show for it for five weeks before I told them to simply refund my money.
Queue the purchase of this notebook. I figured I'd fall back on another brand that I've historically had great luck with; Asus. I've been building my own desktops for fourteen years, and I've never had anywhere near this many problems with anything aside from an odd defective hard drive or stick of memory here and there. Now, in 2022, with prices through the roof, I can't seem to find a quality product, regardless of how much money I throw around.
This unit cost $2,300, $500 more than the last attempt. I thought a little more money for a little better hardware, and another "trustworthy" brand, and I'd be off and gaming for another five-plus smooth years. Wrong.
This Asus strix scar 17 can't handle multitasking on any level. This is with a Core-i9, 32GB of DDR5 memory (I upgraded from the reservas 16GB), and SSDs all around. There is no level of fácil Windows multitasking that should be able to bring this thing to its knees, and yet if I try to open several windows at once or, say, download a game on Steam and then try to cargar some web pages on my gigabit fiber internet, the darn thing chokes up. When I first got the notebook, it gave me a BSOD within minutes of loading its first game, red Dead Redemption 2. On the desktop, the cursor frequently goes completely unresponsive. As in, it freezes in place for several seconds at a time. Other times, the entire Windows desktop goes altogether unresponsive. Ctrl Alt Delete does nothing and none of the teclado or mouse inputs amount to anything on-screen. Obviously, this is not lógico behavior.
So, once again, I decided to swallow my frustration and send it back for an RMA. I included video footage of the BSOD on RDR2, as well as a few pictures of other BSODs that had occurred along with my RMA request. I explained that I had updated all the drivers, the bios, and installed all available Windows updates, and that I had tried a fresh install of Windows on a completely separate SSD. All to no avail. The tech support guy sent back the obligatory steps like "make sure the power is turned on", and many other steps I had already explained had been done. I was, however, granted an RMA number and sent a return shipping label. I promptly mailed back the notebook to their repair center in Indiana. It arrived there just before the 4th of July. They updated the RMA number as showing they had received it on July 5th. It was in testing for several days before being updated as having been "repaired" and sent back to me on July 11th. Just under a week. Not drástica. I figured maybe they had identified a defective motherboard, memory, or some other component and fixed it in record time. Nope! The sheet included with the notebook when it arrived on my doorstep this AM (July 15th) says they had just reinstalled Windows. You read that right. You know, the thing I ALREADY DID MYSELF prior to the RMA. A thing that didn't fix my problem. Now, more than a month after my original purchase, a period of time that I've been without both my $2.300 and a usable gaming machine, I'm still stuck in the same boat as before I mailed it out with a ~$2k paperweight that isn't usable as a gaming machine, let alone a basic multitasking rig.
Asus couldn't be bothered to spend more than five minutes actually testing the unit thoroughly to determine which piece of hardware needed replacing. Instead, they performed a clean install of Windows, a step that I'd already tried and that didn't fix anything, and decided to do nothing further. I'm sure this model is a beast for those who did not receive a lemon as I have.
Off to mail their customer support once more to initiate yet another RMA in hopes of a competent tech actually fixing the problem.
Oh and even though I sent the notebook back in its original box so that it would be well protected, I simply received a bubble enclosure in a bland cardboard box, along with the aforementioned paper explaining the woefully inadequate "fix" and the power brick. Not only did they not fix the laptop, they stole my original packaging, too! Nice work, gents. Clearly, a paciente well done.
Very disappointing service for a notebook with a price tag like this one.
UPDATE 8/4/dos mil veintidos:
I just received the laptop back from the 2nd RMA this afternoon. Upon opening the packaging, unsurprisingly, the service repair report listed the exact same solution as the 1st RMA; "Perform full wipe and re-installation of ASUS factory image to solve the problem. " It solved nothing. Because of course it didn't. You can't fix defective hardware with programa. The repair technician who handled my notebook this time flat out ignored a very descriptive one-page letter I wrote detailing the problem and the previously attempted solution. My hope was that the technician would read this letter and, at a minimum, not simply repeat the exact same steps as the last person. Once again, my hopes were too high. So another RMA, and nearly another month, and I still cannot use my $2.300 purchase. What's even more disturbing is that when I contacted support to confront this 2nd failed RMA attempt, their solution was to offer an exchange of the unit, but with a REFURBISHED model. That's right. I spent the money on a NEW notebook. It espectáculos up defective. I jump through their hoops TWICE to try and get it fixed, which they fail at spectacularly both times while simultaneously wasting two months of my time from the date of purchase, and in the end, they want to give me a previously defective/returned piece of hardware. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the modern-day ASUS. I am now in yet another battle to get a NEW replacement, as I didn't sacrifice two months of my life to get a secondhand product that was likely refurbished by the same incompetent techs that tried and failed twice to fix my notebook.

But the mouse touchpad stops working in 20 minutes.
The only way to fix this is to turn the notebook off.
This problem is repeatable.
The user guide is tiny and does not have much information.
I need a user manual.

Pros:
-Excelente cubierta si el uso será únicamente indoor (para eludir que refñeje bastante)
-Excelente bateria (10h, lejos de las dieciseis que está saliendo en el cuadro)
-Muy ligero (parece ser que llevo un poetatil de 14")
-Idóneo para empleos vinculados a ofimática, Photoshop, mirar pelis, oir música, preparar, etc. (No lo compres si lo prefieres para divertirse, aunque puede con ciertas gaming como fifa veintiuno pero con bajo calidad así que no vale la pena)
- Exquisita elección de conexiones, especialmente la carga con usb c
- La marca funciona genial, te pilla la huella cuando le proporcionas al boton de activar automáticamente y no te la está pidiendo luego
- Teclado suave y decente con buen camino
- no hace ruido
- forma sencilla y elegante
- se prende y suaviza en 5-6 segundos
- cargador rápido
- touchpad enorme y contesta de maravillas
- La mampara se abre con un dedo
Cons
- puedes asar si esta apoyada en las piernas al no tener excelente ventilacion
- se calienta al cargar
- pantalla proyecta demasiada (se entendería si fuera táctil)
- ya podria haber sido táctil, ya que sin propuesta su precio es muy alto
- no vale para divertirse (aunque ya me lo esperaba)
- mismo procesador en otros transportables ofrece algo mejor al cargar programas más pesados, pero cumple a términos en general
- no se puede cubrir la camara manualmente
- importe
Además hay flex tanto en el teclado como en la pantalla pero si se la un uso normal no es un inconveniente. Solo aparece cuando se apreta fuerte, algo no popular.

Opinión de un comprador: Excelente eficiencia, extenso lapso de batería y una pantalla de grandes nivel. Como aspectos desfavorables, la poca abertura de tapadera, trackpad mejorable y, más que nada, no está sacando imagen por el puerto usb C más allá de que se anuncie como display Port (como yo necesito fabricar con 2 monitores lo he debido devolver). Si no necesitas doble escape de vídeo, vas a gozar de su efectividad y la monitora. Más datos, puedes pedir en Youtube "lanthonypedia rog"

Opinión de un comprador: Se ve muy elegante. Es buena para gaming y tareas normales, pero si crees que va a poder usar nuevos pasatiempos con una forma como máximo de 1080p, estás equivocada. En cod: Warzone, obtengo cerca de noventa fps. En dota ciento veinte fps. En subnautica noventa fps. Todo en la forma como máximo.
El procesador de 4 núcleos aquí es una limitación. Por otra parte, tenga presente que no existen cámara.
La especificación es la mejor variante de la lista. Así que tenga cuidado de contrastar las características precisas de esta referencia en el sitio web de asus.
Si quiere un buen rendimiento de pack dentro de un pc portátil liviano y muy transportable, esta va a ser realmente bueno para ud.
Pero si quiere un rendimiento superior, puede que quiera pedir otra cosa.

Opinión de un comprador: El servicio ligero y óptimo. Con respecto al pc diré que el teclado es de plástico de baja calidad y las teclas pequeñas. Los bordes de la cubierta para mi gusto son bastante gruesos y en pigmento negro. No está teniendo luz que indique si se encuentra encendido. Por el importe que requiere, pienso que deberían esforzarse más en éstos datos. También está teniendo cosas positivas como el windows once que es simple de usar. Viene en castellano y con internet al que hay que depositar la clave del enrutador, es muy sencillo de hacerlo trabajar. El Microsoft Office lo trae sóla para un período de prueba, después hay que abonar para tenerlo. Lo he arreglado bajándome gratuito y legítimo el LibreOffice que es tan bueno o mejor, y asunto arreglado. Anunciar también, que los colores y el audio son buenos así como la velocidad que está teniendo. En definitiva, me encuentro bastante satisfecho y espero que dure en el tiempo.

Opinión de un comprador: Lo compré por mil novecientos noventa y nueve€ de oferta, es un enorme PC, por fin una notebook para divertirse que se toma seriamente el diseño, estamos frente al MacBook Interés de los gamers.
Lo unico, que la VRAM son 6GB, no 8GB como instala en el aviso, y la RAM es DDR4, no DDR6 como también instala en el aviso, de allí las 3 estrellas.

Opinión de un comprador: La marca Dell desconozco si en otros paises es de condición pero en España no es lo ideal precisamente. Tienen un bonito diseño, la bateria no es del todo mala en comparacion con otros portatiles pero después de tener un Dell te proporcionas cuenta que no son nada vigorosos pues tenéis varios inconvenientes de alimento (cargador), Los altavoces zumban, errores de tarjeta grafica, calentamientos, mejoras de software,. .. Y además en España el servicio técnico es muy regulero y caro. , No aconsejo su compra.
